FIRST DEGREE BLACK BELT

  1. CHECKING THE TIDE - RIGHT PUNCH
    Step up left hard bow, block the punch using a right inward block into the bend of the opponent's right elbow at the same time you do a left open hand parry to the fist. Do a right snakespit to the left eye as you do a right inverted snakespit, shuffle again doing another snakespit, shuffle once more as you do a right side eagle beak to the left temple.

  2. REACHING FOR THE MOON - RIGHT PUNCH
    Step up left hard bow, left inward block to the punch as the right arm covers the center line. Do a right upward block which circles around into an inverted punch to the ribs. As the right arm is circling the left is shifted overhead to pin the opponent's punching hand.

  3. CROSSING THE LOCK - DOUBLE FRONT WRIST GRAB
    (Facing the opponent) Step up right horse stance, circle the arms overhead from the right to the left (as the left arm starts to circle it will hook underneath the opponent's wrist) Drop a left backfist and a right chop to the wrist and top of the hand. Turn to a soft bow facing the opponent, do a right backfist and a left inverted punch to the face and solar plexus.

  4. WHIRLING LEAVES - TWO OPPONENTS
    (1st opponent throws a right body punch. 2nd opponent throws a right and left punch) 1st opponent -Step right foot forward to a soft bow, right downward knife hand sweep to the punch (the sweep travels from left to right). Do a left four finger eye shot followed by a left downward trap to the opponent's right arm, right backfist to the face. 2nd opponent - Pivot to a left cat stance, left open hand smother, right open hand smother, left front kick to the groin, set forward left horse stance, left uppercut to the jaw, right covers low.

  5. COVERING THE MOON - RIGHT PUNCH
    Start the left open hand parry sweeping from left to right in front of your face. Right upward block, circle the right arm overhead from front to back as you step up left foot to a soft bow. Right uppercut to the body, left hand covers the face.

  6. THE MONKEY - OPPONENT JUMPS ON YOUR BACK
    Grab and pull the index fingers of both hands outward (This causes the opponent to fall backward) Lean backward as you circle both arms in a wrap around to the legs. Do a right downward stomp to the groin.

  7. HANDS OF DEATH - TWO HAND PUSH FROM THE FRONT
    Step up right soft bow, drive double thumb eye shots in-between the push. With the finger tips, grab the base of he jaw, shuffle in using forward pressure and continuous thumb eye shots (This action looks like you are shaking the opponent's head).

  8. REAPING THE FIELDS - KNIFE ATTACK
    (Opponent has a knife around your throat, with the right hand, from behind) Simultaneously turn your head to the left as your right hand pushes the opponents right elbow to the left. Grab the wrist with your left hand. Do a left dancer to the right as your left hand circles and re-grabs the wrist. Turn to a horse, re-grab the opponent's right biceps and dancer right behind the left. Pivot 180 degrees and circle as you drop to a right knee up position and force the opponent down to the ground by pushing up on the wrist and pulling down on the biceps. (Note - If the opponent resists the pull to the ground, continue to circle by spinning in the dancer until you gain enough leverage to force the attacker to the ground).

  9. SWEEPING BLADE - KNIFE ATTACK
    (Opponent has a knife around your throat, with the right hand, from behind) Simultaneously turn your head to the left as your right hand pushes the opponents right elbow to the left. Grab the wrist with your left hand. Do a left dancer to the right as your left hand circles and re-grabs the wrist. Turn to a horse and force the opponent down to the ground by pressuring the right elbow with your right palm. Once the attacker on the ground, pin the shoulder with your right knee. Take the knife with your right hand and cut the jugular vein.

  10. STRIKING THE FLAME - OPPONENT HAS A GUN IN YOUR BACK
    (The gun is in the right hand) Using independent motion, do a right forearm sweep to the gun arm, as you do a left adjustment to a soft bow to face the opponent. Circle your right hand and re-grab the attacker's right wrist. Step left foot behind the opponent to a horse stance as you force the right arm up into a hammerlock. Grab the jaw from the right side with an inverted left hook. Break the jaw as you continue forcing up on the right arm.

  11. THE WILLOW (AB) - GROUND ATTACK
    (You are laying down on your left side)
    1. As the opponent approaches use your left leg to hook his right leg by flicking it out from underneath him (Flip Kick). Do a right side kick to his left knee.
    2. As the opponent approaches use your left leg to hook his right leg by flicking it out from underneath him (Flip Kick). Follow with a right front kick to the groin from in-between the legs.

  12. THE FURY (AB) - OPPONENT STEPS FORWARD WITH RIGHT FOOT
    (Start right side forward horse stance)
    1. Cross left over the right toward the opponent into a hidden foot stance. Right side kick to the right knee, pivot right rear kick to the centerline.
    2. Cross left over the right toward the opponent into a hidden foot stance. Right side kick to the right knee, pivot right rear kick to the body. Set right foot forward into a horse stance. Left dancer behind the right beside the opponent, do a right head smash.

  13. HURRICANE (AB) - STEP THROUGH LEFT PUNCH
    1. Right upward block and right leg check simultaneously to the opponent's left arm and leg. Right wrist hook to the right arm, sweep the arm down and to the left, set the right foot down and spin the left foot around toward the opponent. Left elbow to the spine.
    2. Right upward block and leg check. Hook and sweep the right arm, set the right foot next to the opponent and swing the left leg around to a hard bow. Brace the left hand against the chest and throw the opponent over the leg.

  14. RINGING THE BELL - RIGHT ARM LOCK & HAIR GRAB FROM BEHIND
    Left dancer behind the right, left chop to the groin, right hand grabs the opponent's right wrist, spin under and turn to a horse, right side kick to the knee.

  15. DARTING WASP - CHOKE FROM BEHIND
    (Opponent is choking you with the right forearm as he drags you to the ground backward) Do a left thumb eye shot to the face and eyes of the opponent behind you.

  16. SILENT DRAGON - OFFENSIVE MOVE
    (Grab the opponent from the rear) With the right arm grab the opponent from behind in a choke hold around the throat. Step back with the left foot and drop to a left kneeling position as the left hand grabs the hair. Pull the opponent down onto the top of the right knee to break the back.

  17. CROSSING HANDS - RIGHT PUNCH
    Step up left angled soft bow, do a left open hand parry as you do a right eagle beak to the ribs. Shuffle forward left soft bow, do double crossed backfist to the face. Shuffle left foot forward soft bow, circle the left arm behind the head of the opponent as you do a right palm to the groin, at the same time the left hand slaps the back of the head. Do a right knee to the groin and a right drop elbow to the spine.

  18. TWISTING VINE (ABC) - CLUB ATTACK
    (Right hand has the club)
    1. Step up right angled hard bow, extend the left arm over the opponent's left shoulder (This is called a vine motion) to avoid the club strike. Do a left wrap around to the opponent's head, turn to a horse, right eagle beak to the neck.
    2. Step up left angled hard bow, extend the right arm over the opponent's right shoulder to avoid the club strike. Do a right wrist hook to the club arm, turn to a horse and pull the opponent into a left inverted punch to the ribs. The left hand grabs the right shoulder as you do a right knee to the groin. Follow with a right drop elbow to the spine.
    3. Step up left horse, left open hand upward block inside the opponent's club arm, at the same time do a right inverted punch to the solar plexus. With your left arm sweep the club arm down and through to the right. Take the club with the right hand. Shuffle into the opponent to a left soft bow, right club strike to the head.

  19. ATTACKING LEOPARD - TWO HAND CHEST GRAB
    Pin the hands with the left, step back left horse stance. Right upward break to the arms, do a right whipping backfist to the groin, right four knuckle rake to the nose, left tiger claw eyes, right chop throat. Turn soft bow to the left, right inverted palm to the groin, grab and rip out as you do a right outside crescent to the face. Set back right foot to a fighting stance.

  20. CHINESE LEVER - RIGHT ROUNDHOUSE PUNCH
    Step up left horse stance, left open hand upward block, turn soft bow to the left, right inverted punch to the ribs. Right hook the neck, pull into the right knee. Set the right foot behind the opponent's right leg in a horse, turn hard bow and throw the opponent over the right leg. Right scoop kick the ribs, right stomp the ribs. Do a right drop knee to the chest and a right four knuckle rake simultaneously.

  21. THE HORNET - RIGHT BOXER PUNCH
    Step to the left 45 degree angled crane stance with the right leg up, left open hand parry. Right snap kick to the groin as you do a right four finger eye shot, set toward the opponent at a 45 degree angled soft bow. Right backfist to the back of the head, left hammerfist to the back of the neck. Grab the opponent's head with the right, right knee to the face, right flip kick to the face, right side kick to the knee, set in right fighting stance.

  22. TWISTING SERPENT - LEFT ROUNDHOUSE PUNCH
    Step up right horse, right open hand upward block, left dancer to the right and turn to a horse. Right wrap around the opponents left arm, break the arm. Right backfist to the solar plexus. Right grabs the top of the hair, left tiger claw to the face. Right hook the opponent's jaw from behind, the left hand pins the back of the neck, break the neck. Right chop to the back of the neck as the right foot does a flip kick to the body.

  23. SLICING KNEE (AB) - OFFENSIVE TECHNIQUE
    1. Right slicing knife edge to the opponent's closest knee, cross out fighting stance.
    2. Right slicing knife edge to the opponent's closest knee, pivot and do a right rear kick to the body, cross out fighting stance.

  24. TWISTING ROPE (ABCD) - DEFENSIVE BELT TECHNIQUES
    1. (Knife attack. The knife is in the opponent's right hand) Step back left horse stance, with the right hand on top, sweep the knife to the left side with the belt. Release the left hand and whip the buckle across the opponent's face.
    2. (Opponent kicks) Step back right hard bow, block down using the belt on top of the kick, shuffle forward left soft bow, snap belt across the throat.
    3. (Right kick and right hand knife attack) Step back right hard bow, block down using the belt on top of the kick, turn to a horse stance and sweep the knife to the right with the left hand on top. Wrap the belt around the opponent's neck with the left hand lead, dancer right behind the left and turn to a horse, pull the opponent up and across the right shoulder as you drop to a deep horse stance. The opponent will be pulled over your back.
    4. (Right knife and left punch) Step back right horse, sweep the knife to the right, sweep the punch to the left, twist the belt over the wrist of the left punch. Step right foot forward to a horse, pull the opponent's left arm over the right shoulder to break the elbow as you raise up to a neutral stance.

  25. EAGLE'S TALON - FRONT BEAR HUG ARMS PINNED
    Drop to a horse stance and drive double eagle beaks to the ribs. do double thumb eye shots from under the opponent's arms, do a right knee to the groin as you pull the head backward and down. Drop into a right soft bow, and drive double inverted punches into the floating ribs. Do a left hook to the neck, pull the opponent into a left knee to the solar plexus, set back left and turn to a soft bow to the left, do a right elbow to the spine.

  26. DANCE OF THE DRAGON (AB) - STEP THROUGH RIGHT PUNCH
    1. Step up left horse, left four knuckle rake to the face then block the opponent's right punch. Step through right to a horse stance, as you step do a right four knuckle rake to the face, do a left chop to the opponent's ribs. Step back with the left foot to a horse, do a right tiger claw rake to the face. Grab the opponent by the shoulders from the rear, step back right to a hard bow, pull the opponent into a right knee to the spine, set the right leg back to a hard bow, let the man fall onto your left knee. Do a neck break followed by a right chop to the throat, step back left soft bow, as the opponent drops to the floor, do a double tiger claw to the face.
    2. Step up left hard bow, do a right inward block to the bend of the opponent's right elbow at the same time you do a left open hand parry to the fist. Right backfist to the temple. The left open hand pins the opponent's wrist as the right hand grabs the fist. Step right leg through and behind the opponent. Drop to a left leg down kneeling position. Force the opponent down so that his back is pinned on top of the right knee. Circle the right arm overhead and drive an elbow into the sternum. Drive a right tiger claw into the face.

  27. DOUBLE LANCE (ABC) - RIGHT BOXER PUNCH
    1. Cat to the left 9:00, do a left open hand parry traveling left to right. Step in right to a horse stance at a 45 degree angle, do a "U" punch to the face and ribs (right hand is low). The right hand grabs the back of the shoulder, turn hard bow to the right, do a left reverse punch to the face.
    2. Cat to the left 9:00, do a left open hand parry traveling left to right. Step in right to a horse stance at a 45 degree angle, do a "U" punch to the face and ribs (right hand is low). Do a right straight arm sweep to the right to clear the punch. Follow up with a right ridge hand to the face.
    3. Cat to the left 9:00, do a left open hand parry traveling left to right. Step in right to a horse stance at a 45 degree angle, do a "U" punch to the face and ribs (right hand is low). Step through left to a horse, do a circling double hammerfist strike to the groin and kidney. Do a right elbow to the opponent's face as you step your right foot through to a fighting stance.

  28. BENDING THE STAFF (AB) - RIGHT PUNCH
    1. Step back right foot to a soft bow, do a left brush parry to the punch followed with a right wrist hook, turn hard bow to the right, do a left downward palm against the elbow. Turn hard bow to the left, do a right side fist to the head with a left cover hand on top of the biceps.
    2. Step back right foot to a soft bow, do a left brush parry to the punch followed with a right wrist hook, turn hard bow to the right, do a left downward palm against the elbow. Turn to face the opponent as you do a right snap kick to the face.

  29. THE RAKE - RIGHT PUNCH
    Do a right inward block and a right front snap kick to the solar plexus or groin, follow up with a downward thrust kick to the groin at the same time as you do a downward tiger claw rake to the face.

  30. THE LION (AB) - TWO HAND CHOKE FROM THE FRONT
    1. Right palm to the underside of the opponent's left hand as you do a left wrist hook and sweep to the opponent's right hand as you simultaneously drive a right knee to the groin. Follow with a right downward thrust kick to the knee and a right downward tiger claw rake to the face at the same time.
    2. Right web hand to the underside of the opponent's left hand as you do a left wrist hook sweep to the opponent's right hand and a right knee to the groin simultaneously. Set the right foot forward to a soft bow, right drop palm to the bridge of the nose. Right palm to the solar plexus. Shuffle forward again right soft bow, right half fist to the throat.
